Walnut Tamping Station
Frustrated with the experience of brewing back-to-back shots of espresso with a bottomless portafilter, I challenged myself to design a better alternative than anything available in the market. After several months of prototyping and trying several different approaches, this is the result.
Made out of beautiful Dark Walnut, I’ve designed a tamping station that will accommodate almost any 58mm or 54mm portafilter. The design shows its beauty the first time you use it, and feel the portafilter securely fall into place. A carefully designed offset, and 6061 aluminum base mean that the whole device is secure, and will easily hold up to repeated use.
As a commitment to our planet and only putting good things into it, these are hand crafted out of three materials; Aluminum, Brass, and Walnut. This means every part is either renewable or recyclable.
The Walnut top is sealed with an environmentally friendly, non-toxic oil based coat.
All items from Basics Machine Shop are manufactured in our facility in beautiful Canmore, Alberta.
